What is Ludus Motus

Ludus is Latin for play. Motus means movement. The first workshop of its kind in Serbia: methods used worldwide for decades, finally here. A blend of play, movement, and improvisation, for personal growth, not performance, not therapy.

LUDUS MOTUS brings together up to 20 people for 2.5h of play, improv and spontaneous expression. No pre-written scenes, so whatever this group creates will never happen in exactly the same way again.

This isn't psychotherapy. It isn't preparation for public performance. We don't dig into trauma. We don't analyze anyone's personality or behavior.

Sign up, and for the price of 3 cocktails, spend the weeknight worth remembering.

What a workshop looks like

01

Play

Keith Johnstone used to say: “Don’t try so hard. Be average!” Because the moment we try to be good, we start controlling, correcting, and discarding our first impulse. We use Johnstone’s principles, which show just how fast we shut down our own spontaneity.

02

Movement

Augusto Boal said: “We can close our mouths, but we cannot silence our bodies.” We use Boal’s principles of Image Theatre, where the body, the gaze, and space become the raw material of play.

03

Improvisation

One clap. Twenty complete strangers. Ten minutes later, a symphony. One gesture, five stories, not a single word spoken. Scenes appear out of nothing, and nobody can ruin them.

04

A safe frame

Everyone has the right to pass. At any moment you can say “I’ll sit this one out” and just watch. No explanation. No consequences. A rule that applies at every LUDUS MOTUS workshop.
